ARCHBOLD IN-HOUSE PET SCANNER ENHANCES RADIOLOGY SERVICES

John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital recently completed installation of the GE Discovery VCT PET/CT scanner. This scanner enhances the array of services Archbold provides for the community – especially for oncology patients.  At Archbold, PET imaging will primarily be used to detect and evaluate cancer, but PET imaging is also useful for detecting heart and brain disorders.  For more information or to read the complete article, click here.

LOOK GOOD...FEEL BETTER PROGRAM

For most people, hair loss from chemotherapy and physical side effects of cancer treatment are devastating – especially for women.

John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital has teamed up with the American Cancer Society and local cosmetologist Phyllis Hiers, an area Look Good…Feel Better facilitator, to offer the free Look Good…Feel Better program for women who have been diagnosed with cancer.

ONCOLOGY GROUNDBREAKING

On May 12th at 1:00 p.m., a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the corner of Broad Street and Grant Street to officially kickoff the construction effort of the new Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center.  The Center will be completed in 2010.
