Throughout the year, the Foundation hosts several special event fundraisers that help raise money and awareness of specific causes that the Foundation supports. You can participate in a variety of ways and have a lot of fun while raising funds for a great cause!
The Archbold Classic is a Pro-Am format golf tournament held annually at the historic Glen Arven County Club in Thomasville. Over the past 20 years, the Classic has raised over $1.5 million to benefit the Archbold Scholarship Program. For more information about the tournament contact the Foundation office. The 21st Annual Archbold Classic was held on Monday, November 9, 2015.
A Pink Affair
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Archbold participates in style, hosting a fun-filled fashion show at the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center featuring cancer survivors as models. Proceeds from the 2015 Pink Affair will help fund the purchase of new 3D mammography equipment to be housed at the Archbold Women’s Center. This revolutionary technology provides radiologists the ability to examine breast tissue in much clearer and three-dimensional detail, as well as potentially detect breast cancer earlier, when treatment has been proven to be most effective. For more information on how you can sponsor or become involved and participate in A Pink Affair contact the Foundation office.
Tree of Lights
For over 25 years, the spirit of the holiday season comes alive in the main lobby of John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital with our annual Tree of Lights ceremony. During the month of December, donors can make tribute gifts in honor or in memory of loved ones. Symbolically represented by the decorations and lights on the massive live tree in the lobby, the official lighting of the tree celebrates the life and memories of all those honored. All proceeds from the event benefit Hospice of Southwest Georgia. For more information on this year's Tree of Lights contact the Foundation office. For a tribute form, click here.
