BCH Ranked Top Georgia Hospital and Best in Region

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Brooks County Hospital was recently named a Top Georgia Hospital among critical access hospitals in the state by Georgia Trend Magazine and the best in South Georgia.

In the December issue, the magazine listed BCH among the top 72 hospitals in Georgia for excelling in areas such as quality of care and patient satisfaction. Additional publically available information on hospital readmissions, mortality and hospital acquired infections obtained from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) was used to compile the rankings.

All four Archbold hospitals achieved high rankings in their respective patient bed categories with BCH placing 4th in the category for hospitals in rural communities typically with 25 or fewer beds.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our staff who strive daily to provide our patients the right care at the right time in a safe environment,” said Ken Rhudy, BCH administrator.

The Georgia Trend ranking marks the conclusion of another exceptional year for BCH.

The hospital’s sustained focus on overall quality of care and patient safety helped BCH consistently place on GHA’s “Quality Honor Roll” and earned the hospital The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for accreditation for demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety in hospitals.

“We’re honored to be recognized as a Top Georgia Hospital and the best critical access hospital in the region for the quality care we provide,” said Rhudy. “The recognition is something for our staff and our community to be very proud of.”
