Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Mitchell Convalescent Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Tammy Gurley, RN, BSN to Director of Nursing.
Gurley began her career with the Archbold system in 1982 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She has since served as a charge nurse, and Resident Assessment Coordinator at Archbold’s Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. She also served as the Director of Nursing at Mitchell Convalescent Center, a position she previously held from 1999 to 2005. In addition to her time with Archbold, Gurley worked with the school system as a teacher of health occupation at Mitchell Baker High School and helped develop a program that trains students to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).
Gurley earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Darton State College in Albany and a teaching certificate from Valdosta State University.
“I’m excited to serve our Mitchell County community in this capacity,” said Gurley. “Our residents are our number one priority, and I look forward to leading a team of nurses who strive to provide the best care for our residents every day.”
