Wound Care Center
The Archbold Center for Wound Management and Hyperbaric Medicine provides non-emergent Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, HBOT, utilizing two monoplace chambers; the most widely used for HBOT. These pressurize up to 3 ATA with 100% oxygen. A Registered Nurse, a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist, and a Physician and/or Physician Assistant are present throughout each treatment.
Hyperbaric Medicine
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a clinical treatment in which the patient breathes 100% oxygen while enclosed in a chamber which is pressurized to greater than one atmosphere. Several trends are driving the growth of hyperbaric medicine, including the increase in diabetes and individuals who develop non-healing wounds as well as the advancement of the chambers themselves making HBOT a safe, well tolerated procedure.
HBOT is effective for many medical conditions. At the Archbold Center for Wound Management and Hyperbaric Medicine we most commonly treat the following Medicare approved conditions:
• Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis
• Delayed Radiation Injury
• Compromised Skin Grafts and Flaps
• Wagner Grade III or higher Diabetic Foot Ulcers which have failed an adequate course of standard Wound Therapy
