Archbold Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that gynecological surgeon Oscar D. Jackson, MD, has joined the panel of physicians performing robotic surgery in Thomasville.
DaVinci® Robotic surgery offers physicians an effective, minimally invasive option for complex surgical procedures performed currently as “open” surgery or laparoscopy.
The innovative surgical tool is used by surgeons at Archbold to treat general, urological and gynecologic conditions, resulting in fewer complications, reduced hospitalization costs and reduced trauma to the patient.
Jackson will be using the daVinci system to perform surgical treatment for a range of gynecologic conditions including, but not limited to, cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse and menorrhagia or excessive bleeding.
“The daVinci® robotic technology takes gynecological surgery to new heights,” said Jackson. “I’m delighted to offer this new minimally invasive approach as a surgical option for my patients.”
Jackson has served as a member of Archbold’s medical staff for 19 years, practicing obstetrics and gynecology.
