The pediatrician on call for the Pediatric Center will provide care for your infant during your hospital stay. Follow-up appointments after hospital discharge will be made with the provider of your choosing. If you have special concerns, please contact their office at 229.226.7544.
Please visit the emergency department registration desk upon arrival to be transferred to Labor & Delivery unless you are directed by your physician to go directly to Labor & Delivery.

Visitor parking is located in the main parking area in front of Archbold Memorial Hospital. There is also visitor parking located in the East Tower lot at the corner of Mimosa Drive and Pastime Drive.
You are welcome to bring any items you need to keep you comfortable in labor. We will give you a gown in the Labor and Delivery area.

We welcome your family and friends to come and enjoy this special time with you and your family. Please read below carefully for our visitors’ policy.
Our visiting was designed above all to protect the health and well-being of mothers and newborns in our care. Adult visitors who are not ill are welcome between 10 a.m. and 8:30pm. The newborn’s siblings, at any age, may visit with an adult. Other children who visit must be 12 years old and supervised.

Skin-to-skin means your baby is placed belly-down, directly on your chest, right after they are born. Your care provider dries them off, puts on a hat, covers them with a warm blanket and places them on your chest. The first hours of snuggling skin-to-skin let you and your baby get to know each other. Skin-to-skin contact also has important health benefits. If the infant needs to meet the pediatrician first, or if you deliver by c-section, you can unwrap them and cuddle shortly after birth. Newborns crave skin-to-skin contact, but it’s sometimes overwhelming for the new mom. It’s ok to start slowly as you get to know your baby.
Your baby will stay in your room with you following birth. This will allow you to learn your baby’s needs and give your baby warmth, comfort and security. The staff is here to answer your questions and teach you about caring for your baby.
Obstetrics and pediatrics will be involved in the discharge of you and your baby on the day you go home.Your infant’s car seat must be brought to the hospital on discharge day.
Pack your suitcase and baby’s bag before you come to the hospital. They can be brought in after you have delivered and are in your room.
