The Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care (MLC) Verification program, offered in collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), has named Archbold Memorial in Thomasville as a Level II maternal care verified facility. The designation recognizes Archbold Memorial as a Specialty Care Unit for maternal services with the capacity and resources to care for low, moderate and high-risk antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum condition.
As part of preparing for the arrival of your new bundle of joy, we offer several different support services, including educational classes. See what classes you can register for below!
Come learn what to expect for childbirth and newborn care. Topics covered include labor, delivery, comfort measures, epidural and pain medication, C-Section delivery, post-partum, newborn care, and breastfeeding. A tour of the facilities will be given, and both breakfast and lunch will be provided. This is a free class and registration is required.

This is a prenatal class to learn the basics of breastfeeding, including the benefits of breastfeeding, milk composition, getting started with breastfeeding, how to know your baby is getting enough milk, and more. This is a free virtual class held at 7pm. Registration is required.

Our lactation consultant is available for one-on-one lactation consultations to help mothers in all phases of their breastfeeding journey. Lactation consultations are available for help with latching, increasing supply, increasing weight gain, and helping mothers prepare to return to work or school while breastfeeding and pumping.
