Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women other than skin cancer. It’s the second-leading cause of cancer death; about one in eight women will develop the disease in their lifetime. The disease consistently remains one of the most common cancers treated at the Lewis Hall Singletary Archbold Cancer Center.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, Archbold Cancer Center will host the tenth annual Pink Affair, a benefit fashion show featuring local cancer survivors. Cancer survivors will model clothing from local stores and a celebration honoring the models will follow the fashion show.
The presenting sponsor for the event is Thomasville Toyota and Thomasville Ford.
Proceeds from the event will go towards Archbold Cancer Center’s resource fund and directly benefit under-served patients in the region, particularly those at a higher risk of developing breast cancer.
“The Pink Affair is a wonderful event where our community comes together to celebrate our cancer survivors,” said Debbie Beeson, patient navigator at the Archbold Cancer Center. “We encourage any cancer survivors in our community, regardless of the type of cancer, to participate as a Pink Affair model.”
If you or someone you know is a cancer survivor and interested in modeling in the Pink Affair, please visit archbold.org/pinkaffair for more information or call Debbie Beeson at 229.403.9016.
Tickets for the event will be available for purchase beginning October 1, 2023.
Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are also available for the Pink Affair. For more information on sponsorships, contact the Archbold Foundation at 229.228.2924.
