Archbold Mitchell Boosts State and Local Economy

Annual economic impact data released by the Georgia Hospital Association highlights the Archbold system’s billion-dollar impact on the state economy. The GHA data reveals that Archbold Mitchell in Camilla contributes $68,708,262 to the economy of Mitchell County. Archbold’s four hospitals contributed nearly $1.2 billion to the statewide economy. This update is based on 2023 data and uses an independent third party’s modeling.
Archbold’s mission is to provide safe, innovative and compassionate care. Through this mission, the four-hospital system also strengthens state and local communities throughout the region.

Archbold Mitchell’s economic reach extends beyond healthcare, sustaining jobs in a range of industries. GHA’s data shows that the Archbold system supports 5,292 total jobs across Georgia. Archbold Mitchell supports 302 jobs in Mitchell County, including 133 full- and part-time roles at the hospital. Together, these direct and indirect jobs generate $20,629,606 in household earnings across the state.

Founded in 1929, GHA serves more than 150 Georgia hospitals and works to shape a healthier Georgia by serving as the leading advocate and supporter for all Georgia hospitals and health systems. GHA partnered with IMPLAN® to develop the economic impact figures. Data from the Georgia Department of Community Health Annual Hospital Questionnaire and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Cost Report were used in the IMPLAN® modeling.
