Archbold Welcomes Neurosurgeon Dr. Griffin Baum

Archbold is pleased to welcome Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon Griffin R. Baum, MD, MSc, to the medical staff.

Dr. Baum attended Emory University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology.  Dr. Baum then received a Medical Doctor degree at the Emory University School of Medicine, followed by Neurosurgery Residency at the Emory University School of Medicine, serving as chief resident in his final year. During his residency, Baum also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research from the Laney Graduate School, also at Emory. Following his residency, he completed the Comprehensive Pediatric and Adult Orthopedic Spine Fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY.

Dr. Baum has a passion for helping patients with complex spinal disorders, such as scoliosis, flat-back deformity, as well as failed neck and back surgery syndrome.  He is also a published author, having created the “Healthy Back Kitchen” cookbook with America’s Test Kitchen, a collection of recipes intended to reinvent cooking based on ergonomics and for patients with chronic back pain.  He is most excited about building a program designed to help patients with complex spinal disorders in South Georgia as well as North Florida.

Dr. Baum is board-certified in Neurological Surgery. He will practice with Archbold Neurology/Neurosurgery in Thomasville, joining Brian Russell, MD.
