Archbold Cancer Center Receives Donation From TU Football Team

The Thomas University football team recently turned a community service project into an opportunity to support local cancer patients, raising $2,000 for the Lewis Hall Singletary Archbold Cancer Center.

As part of the team’s commitment to giving back to the community, TU Head Football Coach Dan Pippin and his players hosted two car washes in the parking lots of Red Owl Coffee and Connection Assembly Church in Thomasville. Over the course of four hours, the team raised $2,000 through donations from community members who stopped by to have their vehicles washed.

“Cancer has touched my family, as it has so many families in our community,” said Pippin. “Our team was honored to come together to support the Archbold Cancer Center and the patients and families it serves. We hope this small gift will make a meaningful difference.”

The donation reflects the TU football team's commitment to community service and its desire to make a positive impact beyond the football field.

“We are extremely grateful for the generous donation from the TU football team,” said Vann Middleton, president of the Archbold Foundation. “It speaks volumes about the character of these young men that they would take time out of their busy schedules to serve their community and support local cancer patients. We are grateful to Coach Pippin and the entire team for their generosity and compassion.”

The Lewis Hall Singletary Archbold Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer care to patients throughout the region. Community support, including donations such as the one from the TU football team, helps strengthen Archbold’s ability to care for patients close to home.
