Archbold Mitchell recently began major renovations to the hospital’s first floor to modernize care spaces and improve patient experience. High-traffic areas, including the emergency department, respiratory department, and first-floor corridors, will receive new flooring, ceilings, and paint, among other updates. Renovations will be limited to the building’s interior.
“These updates are part of a $2 million investment in modernizations at Archbold hospitals throughout the region,” said Archbold President/CEO Darcy Craven. “We are proud to be a part of the Mitchell County community, and this investment reflects our commitment to its people and future.”
Although construction will affect portions of the emergency department, the facility will remain fully operational. Archbold Mitchell will accept and treat emergencies throughout the renovations.
The size of the emergency department and changes necessitated by these improvements may result in temporarily extended wait times for some patients during construction.
“When these renovations are completed, our patients will benefit from modernized rooms in the emergency department and improvements to our corridors to create a more healing environment,” said Director of Nursing Marlie Brown. “Our care teams will enjoy renovated nursing stations and support spaces to streamline workflows and provide more efficient care. I believe that our patients and team members will benefit from these renovations for years to come.”
