Archbold Welcomes Sports Medicine Surgeon Lubitz

Archbold is pleased to announce that orthopaedic surgeon Marc Lubitz, MD, will join the medical staff and team at Archbold Orthopedics in late July. Dr. Lubitz specializes in shoulder, knee, and sports medicine surgery.

Lubitz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, with minors in business and economics, from The Ohio State University. He received a medical degree from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University before completing a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Lubitz completed a fellowship in sports medicine, with a focus on shoulder reconstruction, at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Lubitz to Archbold Orthopedics later this month,” said Brock Dockery, Vice President of Archbold Medical Group. “His expertise in treating shoulder, knee, and sports related injuries will be a tremendous asset to our community and further strengthen our sports medicine program.”

Lubitz will begin treating patients at Archbold Orthopedics in August while also serving as a team physician for student-athletes at Thomasville High School, Thomas County Central High School, and Brookwood School.

“I am excited to join Archbold Orthopedics and care for patients and student-athletes throughout this community,” said Lubitz. “My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care that helps every patient recover, regain confidence, and return to the activities they enjoy most.”

Lubitz will join Nicholas Richardson, MD; Aubrey Day, PA-C, and Sarah Bagget, FNP-C, at Archbold Orthopedics. Archbold Orthopedics is currently located at 505 Gordon Avenue in Thomasville, but will move to Archbold’s new multi-specialty surgery center in 2027. The practice specializes in the treatment of general orthopedics, arthritis, sports injuries and fractures. It also offers robotic-assisted joint replacement.

While Dr. Lubitz will officially begin treating patients in August, appointments are now being scheduled. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Lubitz, please call Archbold Orthopedics at 229.551.8600.
