As Thomasville celebrates the community’s Bicentennial this year, Archbold is proud to recognize a ceremonial Bicentennial Baby to mark the occasion. Jenna and Randall Anderson are the proud parents of baby Crue, born on Monday, July 6. Crue was the 200th baby born in Thomasville at Archbold Memorial during the Bicentennial year. He joins Cole, the proud big brother, in the Anderson family.
The Bicentennial Baby’s parents were presented with a gift basket including gifts from local organizations and businesses to celebrate his place in Thomasville's history. Among the organizations contributing to the basket were the City of Thomasville, Thomasville History Center, YMCA of Thomasville, Quail & Co. Children’s Boutique, Jonah’s Fish & Grits, The Bookshelf, Pebble Hill Plantation, Metta Day Spa, Ellianos, Grassroots, and the dedicated team members of the Maternity Center at Archbold Memorial.
“As we celebrate our Bicentennial, this remarkable milestone beautifully symbolizes both our rich history and our bright future,” read a letter from Thomasville Mayor Scott Chastain to the baby’s family. “Your child’s birth is a meaningful part of this historic year and a joyful reminder that our story continues through the lives of those who call this city home.”
For more than half of Thomasville’s history, Archbold has served the community with safe, innovative, and compassionate care. The first baby born at Archbold Memorial, John Archbold Golden, was born on July 11, 1925. Since then, the lives of thousands of residents have begun at Thomasville’s hometown hospital.
“We’re honored to participate in Thomasville’s Bicentennial festivities and serve the people of this community,” said Archbold President/CEO Darcy Craven. “We wish the Anderson family health and happiness as their child grows alongside the community we call home.”
