The Lewis Hall Singletary Archbold Cancer Center recently received a generous donation of books, blankets and beanie hats from the Thomasville Area Board of REALTORS®. The donated items will be distributed to patients receiving treatment at the center, offering comfort and encouragement throughout their cancer journey.
The donation included a variety of books to help patients pass the time during treatments, as well as soft blankets and warm beanies designed to provide comfort and support during what can often be a challenging time. These thoughtful gifts serve as a reminder to patients that their community is standing beside them every step of the way.
“The goal when collecting these items was to provide comfort, encouragement and support to individuals going through cancer treatment,” said Jennifer Plymel-Sterzoy, Associate Broker with Century 21 Avenues Real Estate and a member of the Georgia REALTORS® Community Service Committee. “This donation reflects our commitment to giving back and strengthening our community, and we hope these items bring a little extra warmth and care to those who receive them.”
“We are so grateful to have such a caring and supportive community,” said Wendy Jacobs, RN, Cancer Navigator at the Archbold Cancer Center. “These items will make a meaningful difference for our patients, providing comfort during their treatments and reminding them that they are not alone.”
Community support plays an important role in enhancing the patient experience at the Archbold Cancer Center, helping meet both practical and emotional needs throughout treatment.
