Archbold Mitchell Hosting Emergency Management Drill October 29

On Thursday, October 29, Archbold Mitchell will conduct a mass casualty incident designed to evaluate and reinforce emergency response procedures during a large-scale emergency.

Archbold regularly conducts drills to ensure staff are prepared to respond to emergencies and disasters, including fires, severe weather and infant or child abductions. The hospital also partners with local law enforcement and first responders to simulate external emergencies, such as chemical spills and mass casualty incidents, that could require activation of a countywide emergency management plan.

“In order to serve Mitchell County to the best of our ability, it is important for our staff to know how to respond to emergency situations during a crisis or disaster that could affect the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors and employees,” said Carla Beasley, Archbold Mitchell administrator. “Ongoing training and preparedness exercises help us maintain a safe environment and ensure we can respond effectively during emergencies that impact our community.”

The drill will involve Archbold Mitchell, the Mitchell County Fire Department, City of Camilla Fire Department, Camilla PD, the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department, AmeriPro - Mitchell County EMS and Mitchell County Emergency Management. Activities will take place at 475 S. Harney Street and Archbold Mitchell.
