Archbold To Host Health Talk on Sepsis

Sepsis is the body's extreme response to an infection and is a life-threatening medical emergency that can quickly lead to tissue damage, organ failure and death. The condition is more common than many people realize. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at least 1.7 million adults in the United States develop sepsis each year, and at least 350,000 die during their hospitalization or are discharged to hospice care.

Sepsis can develop quickly and become life-threatening, making it important to recognize the warning signs and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Join Archbold Infectious Disease physician Jasmine Mutti, MD, for an upcoming Health Talk focused on sepsis awareness. Dr. Mutti will discuss how to recognize the signs and symptoms of sepsis, why the condition is so dangerous, and when it is important to seek medical care.

The Health Talk will be held on Thursday, September 24, at 6pm in Williams Auditorium at Archbold Memorial. Dinner will be served.
