Archbold’s Lammons and Briscoe Win DAISY Awards

Two Archbold nurses were recently awarded the DAISY Award in recognition of their efforts to go above and beyond in providing compassionate, skilled and heartfelt care.

Terell “TJ” Lammons, RN, works in Archbold Memorial’s Emergency Department.

TJ’s nomination read, “TJ was patient, kind, and explained what he was doing and why. If he did not have an answer, he came back with one—pretty quickly. He didn’t seem rushed but was very efficient. He had a smile on his face every time he walked in the room. He made an unpleasant situation much more pleasant. He is the kind of nurse you hope and pray for when you come to the emergency department.”

Rachel Briscoe, RN, works in Archbold’s Mother/Baby Unit.

Rachel’s nomination read, “Rachel became our steady presence in the middle of so much uncertainty. She cared for me not only with clinical excellence, but with genuine compassion. She took the time to explain what was happening with my body, what the medications were doing, and what to expect. When I felt overwhelmed and scared, she never minimized my feelings.”

“TJ and Rachel exemplify the core values that define an Archbold team member,” said Amy Griffin, Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer. “We are incredibly proud of both of them and honored to see their dedication and compassionate care recognized.”

The DAISY Award honors nurses who provide exceptional patient care and demonstrate outstanding clinical expertise, leadership, and compassion. Recipients are nominated by patients and their families for the meaningful impact they make through their care. Archbold presents the DAISY Award throughout the year to recognize deserving nurses who go above and beyond in serving their patients.
