According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the United States.
A cardiac event can happen at any time, so it’s important to have access to hospitals with expert cardiovascular care.
Archbold’s Loudermilk Heart and Vascular Center was recently redesignated as a Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center (ECC) by the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS and Trauma.
“This accreditation lets patients know that we have the physicians and equipment available to help them when they are having a cardiac event,” said Christopher L. Daniels, MD, FACC, FSCAI, interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Consultants of South Georgia.
Archbold completed a thorough evaluation process in order to achieve the ECCC designation, including a site inspection and assessment of emergency cardiac care processes and equipment.
“Receiving the ECCC designation again is such an accomplishment for our team here at Archbold,” said Alicia Lacy, director of heart and vascular services at Archbold. “We continue to work towards providing high quality and state-of-the-art services to anyone who walks through our doors.”
