As the leading regional healthcare provider and home to the area’s largest acute care hospital, Archbold Memorial, Archbold remains committed to advancing the health and well-being of the communities it serves. While providing exceptional healthcare is at the heart of Archbold’s mission, it recognizes that improving community health extends beyond the walls of the hospital.
One of Archbold’s core values is Community Impact—the commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people served. That commitment is the foundation of Live Better, Archbold’s community health initiative dedicated to helping residents build healthier lives through education, prevention, and wellness.
Launched in 2016 by former Archbold President and CEO Perry Mustian in response to a Community Health Needs Assessment, Live Better was created to address one of the region’s most significant health challenges: obesity. As a leading contributor to chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, obesity affects individuals of all ages and impacts the overall health of our community. Live Better was designed to address these issues proactively by promoting healthy habits before serious health problems develop.
For many years, Archbold has offered valuable community outreach through free health screenings, educational seminars, disease prevention programs, and wellness classes. While these services continue to play an important role, Live Better expanded that vision by focusing on everyday lifestyle choices that help people stay healthy long before medical care is needed.
Since its launch, Live Better has become a trusted community resource, bringing together local businesses, community organizations, government agencies, the Thomasville and Thomas County school systems, and the Brookwood School around a shared goal: creating a healthier Thomas County.
One of the program’s greatest areas of impact has been its work with local schools. Live Better partners directly with educators to provide age-appropriate health education, encourage physical activity, promote nutritious eating habits, and help students develop lifelong healthy behaviors. By reaching children early, the program is helping establish habits that can improve health outcomes for generations to come.
As Live Better approaches its tenth anniversary, Archbold is proud to introduce a refreshed brand that reflects the program’s continued growth and renewed vision for the future. While the mission remains unchanged, the updated logo, messaging, and visual identity represent a modern approach to connecting with the community and inspiring healthy living.
Residents will continue to see Live Better throughout the community—including in local schools, at the annual Pink Run, and at many other community events—but one of the most exciting parts of this relaunch is Live Better’s enhanced social media presence.
Through its refreshed social media channels, Live Better will provide accessible health information, nutrition tips, fitness ideas, wellness resources, community event updates, and practical advice that individuals and families can incorporate into their daily lives. The goal is to make trusted health education readily available, encourage healthier choices, and inspire our community to take small steps that lead to lasting improvements in health.
“Live Better has always been about more than a logo or campaign,” said Todd Bennett, Clinical Outreach Manager at Archbold. “It’s about empowering people with the knowledge and resources they need to improve their quality of life.”
