Archbold Grady has unveiled a new state-of-the-art GE Revolution Ascend 64-slice CT scanner, bringing advanced imaging technology to patients in Grady County.
The new scanner provides faster scan times, helping patients spend less time in the imaging suite while also allowing physicians to obtain highly detailed images for diagnosis and treatment planning. The system also uses advanced technology designed to produce high-quality images while reducing radiation exposure compared to older CT systems.
In addition to improving patient comfort and imaging capabilities, the new CT scanner expands the range of services available locally. Patients who previously had to travel outside of Grady County for certain specialized imaging exams can now receive many of those services closer to home. One of those services includes coronary calcium scoring, a noninvasive test that helps assess the presence of calcium buildup in the arteries and can aid in evaluating a person’s risk for heart disease.
“The investment of this scanner reflects on Archbold Grady’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care close to home,” said Crystal Wells, administrator at Archbold Grady. “By bringing advanced technology to our community, our residents can benefit from quicker access to imaging services while remaining close to their physicians and support networks.”
