Archbold’s neurohospitalist program provides on-site availability for urgent neurological evaluations and administration of time-sensitive therapies for patients with neurological conditions that are admitted to Archbold in Thomasville.
Our Archbold neurohospitalists evaluate and treat a multitude of conditions including:
They may also diagnose and co-manage patients with critical illness polyneuropathy/myopathy, coma, or increased intracranial pressure. The scope of neurohospitalist medicine encompasses the entire spectrum of inpatient care including the prevention and management of medical, surgical, and psychiatric complications of neurologic disease.
You may be treated evaluated or treated by a neurohospitalist if you experience a sudden neurological illness that requires emergency medical attention and a visit to the hospital’s Emergency Room.
Neurohospitalists may also oversee treatment while a patient is hospitalized with any of the following conditions or symptoms:
If you are hospitalized for a neurological condition or seek medical care in the emergency room for a sudden neurological illness or injury, your neurohospitalist will likely ask you questions about your symptoms, perform a neuro exam, and may also run a few tests. Once your diagnosis is determined, your doctor may recommend treatment that includes medication or a procedure to help treat the specific issues that are causing you discomfort and pain.
